Has anyone changed the outer and middle cover gaskets on a square 4 GB 7 transmission in the frame

Next on the list I am planning on adding a sidecar so need an easy way to keep primary chain adjusted correctly pulling the extra weight.Drag shoe is on the slack side of the chain, O ring seal on the lock nut.

I have several Mll square 4 heads,Question: one set has a bevel cut a along part of the flat mating block surface of all 4 combustion chambers and other sets do not have that bevel cut.Have seen pictures of the bevel cut heads also.Is this factory or modification.
