Hi Simon, welded the rim to the guard, like I wrote : fiddling!

The inside measurements can differ a few tenth (mm) between different TS cases

mucking about trying to get a wng mudguard fitting the teles.
forced two dents sideways for the tele covers :

Assembly day is nearing :D limit myself not to do that before the paint has fully hardened ...

Busy with the oil pump.

atm there is no spring-ball-cap behind the feed side .

I know those are there to keep oil in the crank if the oil pump packes up, (never had that ) :)
Also if you want to have a reading on a oil gauge but my VB does not have that.

So, is it needed ?

Vincent, it should also prevent oil draining back into the sump after you turn the engine off.
At least my 1946 VB works like this.
Mine was draining back even though I had yet to start it up.
Took the pump off and extracted the cap ( it has a very small channel down the side ) ball and spring and found a minute spec old debris sitting on the ball seat. Cleaned it up and now all good.
I am still wondering how the little cap channel down the side doesn’t let oil drain to sump over time?

Hi Gary,

I looked at the small cap but It does not have a channel down the side.
