I continue to be amazed by the ingenuity of the Ariel restorations, as well as the knowledge and details that emerge from the members that contribute. As several have said already, great work Vincent.

This is excellent. I am always full of admiration for guys who can not only fabricate stuff but improve upon the original design. I share the VB enthusiasm. I have ( I think!) a 1946 rigid rear/tele forks with an early 1950s engine. Lovely old chugger, handles surprisingly well and the exhaust note uphill is just fantastic.

It's been a while...... playing with all sorts of other things :D

Wanting to skim the cylinderhead.
And who knows.....maybe upp the compression a tiny bit ?
Not for my lathe as that has not enough swing as seen here :

( I have two cylinderheads, above is the 'dummy' one.)

I made up a jig :) .
Lot of work for just a one time use....I must be bonkers

The cylinderhead is supported level by 4 studs that stick into four of the nine cylinderhead bolt holes.
And held with one bolt through the sparkplug hole and another in the (threaded) TDC hole.

The way I use to do things..... van dik hout zaagt men planken

Skimmed the VB head on a nice Schaublin lathe.

A bit of progress with the WVB, loosely assembled for the moment.
