I can imagine Ariel did ad this bracket to the early models but It seems pointless to ad this bracket to a VB model which never did have two exhaust ports. Maybe they pre fabricated the complete front tubes with all the brackets etc. on the frame regardless which model it was used later on?

…and even the very late rigid (mid 50’s) VB bears the same bracket, all together with the swingarm type lug for the side stand. It seems Ariel just could not depart from their inseparable bracket

On it’s own this can become a nice W/NG indeed. But it is quite long on the market now and it seems struggling to sell. Yes the ‘old bike market’ is looking in serious decline. Quite some classic bike owners still have the idea their bikes are worth lots of money which is unfortunately not longer ...

I guess it’s Roger who has the right insight on this matter because he holds the factory records. Stamping on this frame says it’s a 1945 NG with W/NG frame specs (AP prefix) However It makes me wonder why this NG does have a field stand which I never came across on a AP frame…

Apart from the Indian forks, we allready discussed, the frame number does have a AP prefix which means this is not a W/NG at all, but a NG mocked up as a war bike.

Paul’s Sq4 green looks to come quite near BMC Reseda Green.

I guess it requires quite some ‘pipe bending’ skills…
