Here we have a Leader, from the estate of a former member, Mr Scraggs, which suffered some superficial damage back in 1987/88 during the great storm. The flooded road, caused it to be dropped, damaging the front scuttle panel, headlamp and fottpegs, along with brake and gear lever. Been in the ...

Re: RECONDITIONED CRANK ASSEMBLIES

Thanks Nev for your input to this debate and your advice.
I have 12 cranks to refurbish and as you suggest, some do have worn shaft ends and some have been damaged, to put it politely.

It may be the best approach to try and source a complete new crank assembly, however I cannot locate the ...

RECONDITIONED CRANK ASSEMBLIES

Thanks Jess for the support. I have been discussing this with Jess, and Richard T in the Forest, and the conclusion is, If the crank goes at the moment the bike is pretty much scrap. Re: 2 head gaskets fitted to my leader

I usually check the "squish" gap between piston crown and head, with 2mm soft solder wire, after the head is bolted down.
Cut into a 3 inch length and make an L shape out of it, making sure the bottom of the L shape is about half of the dia of the piston, so 23mm should be fine. remove spark plugs ...

Re: ARROW SEAT LOCATING CUPS. T2658

Thanks for your suggestions but the price of making a tool and then making the parts is too expensive for the small number sold each year.
So, Ive had a go at 3D printing some prototypes. Not for the purist but they are very strong and work well. Ok they need a paint, but other than that they do the ...
