Re: The new Project
I notice that one of the three bikes being assembled at Healey's has a black frame and the left bike of my photo from Wolvey also has a black frame, presumably the same bike since I think most Healey's were plated frames.

Re: The new Project
In 2006 the sprinter was at Harry Vermeulen in the Netherlands for rebuilding.
I remember that he did locate a other blower for it, but apart from that I dont know what happened.
I must have a picture from the wreck ( somewhere) that I took at the 40th year rally in Holland in 2006.
But where.....

Re: The new Project
In the photo with the sprinter, the two Healeys are the first two production bikes. The chrome frame one became PHT161M which became my first Healey with 829 miles on the clock from new. The black frame one went to a mill at first floor level on the Yorkshire / Lancashire border where it rotted until September 2013 when Bonhams sold it for over £30,000, still unregistered.
Jerry has very kindly shared his photos with me today. He took the following 2 at the BMF Rally in 1975. Given the date of the photos, plus the top box on the bike to the left of one photo, I can set them in chronological order of Healey production. Note the bare frame on the RHS of these two photos. Almost certainly, these photos of the bare frame are the only 2 known photos of the bike I am currently restoring which were taken before the fire in the USA wrecked it.
So many thanks Jerry - but I still don't know what the original colour was !
Incidentally, The Healey banner seen on the RHS of the tent photo is now in my workshop.

Re: The new Project
I think I remember seeing a Healey in British Racing Green at the factory at one time. Any info on that Paul?

Re: The new Project
This brings back memories.
I was in 'The Island' for TT Week in (I think) 1972 and went to an AOMCC 'meet' at a pub somewhere out on the open road (memory has gone). Tim Healey was there with one of his fours and I was on my four-pipe '53 bitsa. I had met Tim a couple of times before and he knew my interest in the Squares.
In short he handed me the keys and said "give it a run" . . . .
I had a great run on the Healey Four, which I liked very much. I just wished I could afford one (then and now).
I'll have to go delving into my collection of fuzzy pictures/slides again
.
Bob.
