Ariel 500 OHV 1928 Pinstriping for tank
Hi all,
I am in the process of getting my tank ready for paint and am not to sure of the factory pinstriping that goes on this model, i have seen light blue and gold on the side running right to the front of the tank, but also seen it stop short of the front and come down and join the lower pinstriping.
Also i have seen the same pinstriping going around the top face of the tank.
One original tank i found had the gold and light blue pinstriping on the side with the light blue on the outer and no pinstriping on the top face, most of the restored tanks i have looked at have had the gold on the outer
Interested to hear what people think
Regards
Shane

If you followed the 'how to' post http://forum.arielownersmcc.com/viewt ... =35&t=4735and it still does not work Your image size may be too big. You need to reduce it in a photo editing program. Or emial them to me and I will post them for you

For info....the forum will not uplaod photos bigger then 2MB.
To reduce the size open the photo in PAINT program that comes as standard with Windows, the origional size will be shown in the bar at the very bottom of the PAINT window.
Then click Resize (top left of toolbar) make sure the maintain aspect ratio box is ticked and then change one of the percentage boxes to about 70% (the actual amount will depend on how big the original was, 70% reduces a 4mb image to just less than 2mb)
Click File then select Save As and finally Jpeg in the box that opens up.
Give the file a new name so that you do not change the original and save it. The new size will then appear at the bottom of the PAINT window. If it is less than 2MB job done ...if not repeat and reduce it a bit more...say 5%.
Cheers

Thanks for uploading my pics and educating us all, or at least me! with regards to the paint unfortunately i'm not that good at painting so had John do it for me.http://www.vale-paints.co.uk
He did all the tin wear including much tin bashing on the rear guard; his black paint you could lick!
