Most Makes are tension wire to advance. Rudges can be the exception.. I use Points open (Cigarette paper moves) at FULL advance is 35 Degrees Before TDC on a dial. Get TDC more precisely by taking the Piston a fixed distance accurately say 1" both ways and bisect the two positions. You need full advance when you are revving it out or the Pipe will show Blue. Thanks Paul, that’s really kind. I’ve just submitted my membership application and paid the subs, so hopefully I’ll get a copy of the magazine soon.

If you fancy a ride out to Shelsley Beauchamp at any point please shout, tea and a distinct lack of technical knowledge await!

Thanks

Paul

This happened today! Paul kindly rode over and we spent an hour talking about Ariels whilst Paul checked the bike over, gave it a thumbs up and shared a wealth of knowledge along the way. Incredibly kind.

I now really, really need to do my test!!
