Re: tappet settings
Inlet just free and Ex about .003". That's what I use on iron Motors. Camshaft shouldn't make much difference. They open up as the Motor gets Hotter. ' Use VG valve springs. The VH ones are too strong. (scuff the cam lobes). Use a decent 50 weight oil with antiscuffing additives, Nev

Thanks for your response ,you are correct about the valve springs .When I received my new valve springs ,I questioned Draganfly about the springs they supply for the VH engine. They confirmed that they supplied the correct items. I will order the springs recommended by yourself.

Re: tappet settings
The inner VH and VG springs are the same and if Draganfly supplied the 520-34 outer springs they are correct for the VH for 1938, if you wish to use non-standard springs that is up to you, don't be surprised when your valves bounce at 5,000 revs. I think Nev's advice is sound as the VG springs will give the cam an easier time, they were also used on the VH from 1951 but note that you will need different lower spring collars as the springs are a different diameter, order 560-29
