WANTED VH500 valve lifter spindle

Post by Simonpsmith »

Mine is so worn it now won't compress the valve.
Spares not available from Draganfly.
Can anyone help?
Ideally I'd like to replace the whole mechanism.
Thanking you in advance

Simon,

Is it the shaft 335-30 that you need? Just looked at D's site where the shaft seems to be now available.

If not I'll probably have a usable one.

I've got a spare, unused, one from Drags and even though it is a bit 'clunkier' than an original, it will fit a '34 rocker box I think you have to thin down the lifter a bit

I got this https://www-arielklub-sk.translate.goog ... x_tr_hl=el from Ariel Club Slovakia for my 37’ VH500. The direction of the valve lifter arm hole is opposite but you can install your old one or leave it as is and it still works.

The side valve and ohv arms are for cables entering on opposite sides

It will be the same spindle part but your rockerbox looks like this with the lifter on the side plate?

Is the spindle this one:

and this will need attention as well:

but I'm not sure how easy to remove it?

In the 33/34 parts book 335-30 is listed for side valves and 335-31 for overhead valves....

I suspect the difference between them is length? Which is crucial for your setup...

Just found another NOS spindle which even though it came with a SV arm (handed) seems identical to the old OHV one. (the repro one is longer)
