Front fork suspension caps

Post by PaulHarding »

The original suspension top caps are seemingly unavailable.
I have used the caps from Right Guard deodorant spray cans (small cap) which require a hole to be drilled allowing the top thread to peak through, held in situ with a spot of no nails. Can be painted if required.
Not for the purist perhaps but looks far better than the cracked ones that came with the bike !!
I'd post a couple of pics if I could find how to do it !!!!

They now have a 3d printer and are making all sorts of weird and wonderful things.

Hi all,
A question came up related to the ivory white colour of the front end of the Arrow on this topic. As I have an Arrow -62 with exactly the same colour but haven't been able to find a code. Does there exist a RAL code close to the one in the photo.
Thanks in advance for comments,
Vesa

Re the plastic suspension tops. Around the 1990's some one made a batch of both suspension tops and torque arm covers in plastic, they have the letters BDG on the inside. By the time I needed some they had mostly run out but a few were available , so I made a suspension top mould in alloy and found someone who had a manual plastic injector , he made a couple of batches in off white/ creame. It wasn't a case of what is the correct colour but what colour is available. There were also some made in other colours as an experiment or to clear the injector. That's where the tops for the inspection light came from. Most of them have gone now there are just a few seconds left. Brian H.
