Welcome to the forum John.

It would help to know what bike you want the shells for.

hi, John welcome to the forum and have tried Drags for the bearings or you can try a bearing supplier if you got numbers on the bearings all the better

The only 1954 BSA using shell bearings was the A7/10 twins, unless you have an industrial engine. Do you have an engine number? I think that number is for an individual shell, the sets have a different number, and was used on Ariel KH and SQ4, neither of which was ever 420cc. If so Draganfly part K140-47

Trac Grip - definitely not an Ariel (although they did once make various 'traders' machines!) I guess John's casting a wide net. :D
Engine looks to be a single-cylinder side valve.

There's a vid on FaceBook about a restored one (which is where I got the pic):

I'm not sure how things are these days but at one time I'd have asked Thorntons if they could help with bearing shells.

I have never heard of a Trac-Grip. There used to be a firm in Sarf Lunnun that specialised in industrial engine spares, Meeton's I think it was, no doubt long gone. That shell number was certainly for KH/SQ4.

Diameter of crank pin would confirm 1-3/8 is standard

Thankyou all for the information, it’s an industrial engine that apparently shares the same big end shell bearings as an arial either 500 twin or sq 4 it’s early days of the restoration so everything is very new to me l really appreciate you taking the time to reply and help me with my seemingly never ending journey into the distant past.
Regards John.
