Re: 1948 Square Four distributor cap

Hi Simon. I have a slightly battered one. I think that is has been used with an incorrect rotor arm at some time, because the insulation is burnt next to each of the four HT contacts. The carbonised plastic has been cleaned off and lacquer applied. So it should be good to go.
If you want to try it ...

Re: 4g mkII

Just do an internet search for either imperial thread grease nipples, or metric if you prefer. If your current shafts are in good condition, you could drill and tap them to suit the nipple. The shafts are not very hard. It's good idea to fit nipple covers to keep the dirt out.

Re: Kickstart Lever Walking off

I had the same problem in the distant past, also on a Burman gearbox. I tried Loctite on the spline, and a couple of spots of braze.
They both worked for a while, but eventually failed. My final solution which is still working years later, was to drill and tap the centre of the splined shaft, and ...

Re: Mk2 with Morgo oil pump

Hi Klaus. First check that your oil pressure is not higher than necessary. 60 psi is enough. When I first fitted a Morgo to my Mk1 I was getting a reading of 100 + psi at 90 kph. This will over oil everything.
It is easy to adjust on the Mk1, not so easy on the Mk2 which has the oil pressure relief ...

Re: grease nipples

Here is a picture of mine. The grease nipple is 1/4 BSF; but as Simon says, you may be talking about the threaded hole for the rear chain tension adjuster.
