magneto bolt pattern, platform bolts?

I wanted to know the bolt pattern of an Ariel platform mag. The M01 seems to have four bolts laid out on a 50mm
square, I would of course be drilling them on a 1-31/32" square.
I wondered if Ariels third bolt was in the centre of the square?

Re: Waterslide Transfers

Mine is in a traditional tiny tin (it has been in stock for some years) with Gloss 35 on the lid. I expect it will be the same stuff.

I think the adhesive on transfers may have changed around 1990. When I rebuilt my Red Hunter in 1990-91 I put transfers on the oil tank without varnish which ...

Re: Are all Burman covers the same?

Not all GB outer covers are the same - it will need to come from an Ariel but not an HT Ariel.

Most problems with the kickstart jamming are to do with wear on the first teeth of the kickstart
quadrant. There are a number of threads already on this forum so you may find a search

Are all Burman covers the same?

Kickstart jammed, it's been bad for a while[long while]. I have a swingarm VB.

I was going to cut a hole in a cover so I can see whats going on.

I was just about to pull the trigger[ebay trigger] on a five quid cover, a cover that looked suitably
manky that I won't feel guilty chopping it up ...

Re: Plasma cutter

My first plasma was some old three phase thing that was being given away. Murex tradescut.
It cut really well. I solved the obsolete torch(no consumables available and why it was being given away) by making a fitting to stick a commonly available torch(trafimet) on it. But it lacked beans, which I ...

Re: VB con rod length?

Skid is on Dong Xin’s rule.

The BLMC garage over the road from our house had a machine shop, they did complete engine rebuilds
in there and they had a con rod straightening jig/thing.
Rods had the mating faces ground and then the rod was honed round and to size.
The rod was bolted to the thing ...
