Breather puffing oil out

hey all, sorry to keep posting separate posts about my bike...
my only problem now is when i've been riding, it drips a lot of oil on the floor.... ive been trying to work out where its coming from but now realized there is a breather on the back of the oil pump housing ( might be called something else? )
it has a 90 degree bend comes out and points straight down but when the bikes running you can watch the smoke/haze of oily mist being puffed out all over the frame and engine?

should it have some kind of filter on it or a pipe or something? and should it even do that? dads not happen about the oil on the new driveway haha....

any help is appreciated.....

I think there's a ball bearing in that elbow that is supposed to stop some of that oil leaking. It's a bit like a non return valve but it doesn't work that well. The part your talking about is called the inner timing cover.and protects the oil pump and chain drive to the magneto

They all leak oil Sir.

It shows there is some oil in there.

If Dad is a problem, put something absorbent under the bike when you park it at his place. Keep cleaning the oil off the bike and you will find out exactly where it is coming from. Then we can help you to solve each oil leak in turn.

If you are getting a lot out of the breather, it suggests to me that the return pump might not be working properly. Is your oil level in the tank constant or falling? When you start the bike up, do you get a constant stream of oil returning to the tank, followed after a while by an intermittent return?

ive fixed all the leaks so far! ( i think) only this breather problem and oil gets into the clutch...
started the bike and plenty of oil was pumping up the return so went for a ride and i was still pumping no problem so id say that's ok.

took the breather off and managed to break out (rushing around) does anyone have one? haha
was thinking about making something with a modern little filter facing up to keep some oil in...?

any other causes for what could be making it chuff? well get to the oil clutch later haha

its in the 90 degree bit and has a little pin holding it in , just didnt take it right out

I’ve orderred one and the pipe because mine never had that, at least that will stop it blowing all over the engine and frame.

Just wonder what’s making it blow so much...

There's a lot of pressure there. I think with the pipe in place you'll notice a big difference.
