Age related reg number application

Post by alan.moore »

Has anyone any knowledge or insight into the most recent procedure for UK registering a 'reconstructed classic' built from parts? I went through this process a coupe of years ago with help from the club and it was straightforward: rebuild, photos, dating cert and fill out a V55/5 application for reg number. This part of the process is the same.

However, looking at the DVLA info you now need to also complete a V627/1 form on which you list the frame, engine, forks, wheels and gearbox, their serial numbers (if any) , origin, make and any receipt for their purchase.

(All parts used still need to be over 25 yrs old, genuine period parts of same spec as factory and the club still need to verify the bike is a genuine period reconstruction).

Re receipts DVLA say "receipts – you must provide official receipts or an invoice from identifiable suppliers for the major components used in the build, a copy of the receipt or invoice for its purchase and details of any identification or serial numbers shown on the replacement"

I've bought the parts from club members and Ebay, so does anyone know what DVLA will accept as a receipt?

Any thoughts...the members section still list the old procedure?
Cheers

I agree with Dave, don't poke the bear , as long as it looks like a correct period machine you will be fine, most complete bikes are just a collection of bits anyway.
