Mk1 V/V guide clearances

Hi All
I understand the original spec MK1 clearances are 0.002" for inlet and 0.004" outlet. I need to finish hone new Colsibro guides, but just thought it prudent to ask whether 0.004 is necessary (no point in removing material is not necessary).

I was going to use 250 grit for final finish, and a coarser grit for removal.

Cheers
C

Guides should be honed to the nominal size as the clearance is on the valve.

It Tells you, Just above A bit less on the Inlets will reduce oil consumption and they rarely grab when Oil s around. Not so with the exhausts. Try to have the finish good or rapid wear Happens.. Nev
