Trying to find my grandads old bike pfr506
Hi all iam hoping someone can help me
my dad found some old pictures in the loft of when he was a kid.
one is where he is sat on the tank with my nan and grandad I will upload this pic to this thread he was saying he would love to see a updated picture of the bike now as it holds some fond memories.
But I would also like to may be do one better and take him to see it in person if the current owner would allow this would make his year for definitely
The bike was with my grandad in barrow in Furness I want to say in the 60-70s the picture attached was taken just out side of barrow
My dad tells me stories of how him and my Nan would sit in the side car and my grandad would drive to Blackpool Morecambe and all over on it
I no the bike is taxed till may this year as I did a search on it but any help after this would be amazing and to even get any of this to happen would be appreciated
Thank you so much
Andy

Re: Trying to find my grandads old bike pfr506
As you say, someone has it and is using it accordingly to the DVLA, though it looks like it has a Square Four engine in it now.
Is it a club bike, I wonder?

Hi Andy, could the registration be PFR505 as that is what it looks like to me in the photo?

PFR 506 has one entry in the club's register from 1990 when it was owned by long time club member Neil Stewart from Kineller near Aberdeen. It was a 1958 FHS ie Huntmaster Sports. As Simon says, DVLA list it with 1000cc engine, which probably means that the frame has been modified to build a s/arm Square Four. There are not any later entries under that registration or under the frame number of CAPR 13636. You could try a letter in the magazine, we always like a period photo

Hi
I agree with John above, the registration in the photo looks like PFR 505, is there any record Roger?
Regards Mick

Re: Trying to find my grandads old bike pfr506
PFR is a Blackpool number, allocated from Nov 1958. (DVLA has date of first reg of PFR506 as Dec 1958)
So still in the north-west in the 1960s (and maybe 1970s)
Kithead Trust suggests Blackpool registration material might still be available in the Lancashire Record Office (Preston), as they still hold:
'Registers FR 2501-3000, 4261-5250 and FV to RFR-N'.
Anyone fancy checking to see if there's anything for PFR 505 and PFR 506, to resolve the problem of that last numeral?

Looks like a 6 to me and we don't have a record of PFR 505
