WNG Field Stand Lug

Post by ClintR »

Hello:
I am a newbie here, not to WD motorbikes, but to Ariel WNG. Would like to know where one might find the field stand lug that was mentioned on a long ago post, either a reproduction or OEM (if they exist at all). The lug has been cosmetically sawed off leaving a smooth nub! 😩

I think your most expedient approach would be to fabricate a new one - I don't think they are available...

Thanks! But oh geez! Are there any drawings available that someone could use to fabricate one. Sadly I am not a machinist.

You put it on the last post in an older thread which is linked above and has the same title but is from 2018:

I moved the last two posts (Vincent's and yours) to this thread 'cos admins (and also moderators, actually) can do such things! :o ;) 8-)

Hope you're recovering OK after hospital.

One of the Links is to an old post by Luis Paz. It shows one cut from a frame. I've ridden 18K miles on my W/NG. The side stand is horrible in use. The Bike can roll either way and it's no good on smooth concrete or bitumen. It would only be for looks. IF you like the idea of a sidestand put a normal one on that works. ie Doesn't slip on the frame. Nev
