KH 500 Rev Counter

Post by David Smith »

Does anyone know of a straightforward way of setting up a tachometer on a KH 500? I have tried a couple of the small inductive tachos that are available but since they happily show majorly different RPM for the LH and RH side of the engine and the crank is not complaining think they might be a tad inaccurate!. I had thought of rigging a standard wired tacho to an ignition cut out brush to read pulses but then read that the primary windings would likely be at several hundred volts which would not be so good!

A good inductive one should be accurate. Going cable from the Magneto d rive is not worth the trouble and cost unless you want the "LOOK". Nev
