Post by VIC.LIGHT »

How tight must I make the shock absorber nut on my 1931 Ariel MF?
There is no locking nuts or tab washer just a single a single "locking sleeve" part number 1294-31.
Thanks Vic

FT, which is a technical term meaning very tight. Torque wrenches had not been invented then

You have a problem stopping the engine turning. That model also has a grease nipple in the end of the Mainshaft I think. The wear surfaces on the CAM thing are not very large. The cams must not allow the sprocket to turn on the shaft. Something should bottom out first. Nev
