Rear chain lubrication screw
Hi Guys
There is a hole in my primary chain cover which needs, I believe, a chain lubrication screw!
The part book lists 5770-43, which I think is correct - please let me know if I am wrong.
I get the feeling there should be a screw in addition to the needle?
I can't seem to find anyone who sells one. Drags doesn't even list it, neither do ACMEStainl.
Any ideas very welcome.

Re: Rear chain lubrication screw
The screw has a needle point on the end and a knurled cheese head - there's one here:

Thank you very much Simon, for some reason, not in my parts list.

Re: Rear chain lubrication screw
hi some clutch chain cases just have a screw on the outer case and some have a longer tapered screw and spring to lube the rear chain i think the longer ones are on the open rear chain guard the fully enclosed chain guard has a rubber pipe from the oil tank to lube the chain on my Ariels with the long screw i turn it in to turn the oil off and stop the oil getting on the rear tyre and i lube the chain with a spray on lube and once a year i take the chain off a wash it and if it is ok i put it in grease you get in tins and heat it up

Re: Rear chain lubrication screw
The type you are looking for was only fitted to the few contracts with steel chain cases instead of the usual ally ones. They used I different arrangement with a plunger, Screw and spring. I have never seen one but I may have a pattern that I can draw for you.

Hi Roger
Can I take you up on your offer of a drawing for part number 5770-43 please?
I have one of the few metal chain cases and need the adjuster.
Thanks

W/NG Tin chain case - oiler screw
Evening all,
Does anyone have a drawing or can provide me with a sketch of what the oil adjustment screw looks like (its not the same as for the aluminium chain case). Its part number is 5770-43.
Thanks in advance
Steve W
