does anyone have a photo of the timing cover for a single with the non return valves fitted to both the flow and return side as adopted from 1957 onwards.

Derek - it looks extremely similar, I'm not sure what you're hoping to get by seeing a photo. You have seen the Service Bulletin that give the technical details of both ball valves (no. 125)?
