There are 520 bikes with W/NG frames listed on the register, 29 are Navy, 53 RAF, some will have other engines fitted and a few will look nothing like W/NG.

it's really very interesting to look at the details in the photos.

Two photos caught my eye:
The Ariel with the tank number C4694544.
By relating the numbers to the frame/tank at the start of the contract,
my "Siren" would be the 59th.
In theory, its tank number would be C4692958.
It should have this final configuration, correct?



The other photo is one used by an American; it's the first time I've seen a British vehicle bearing the typical X marking on "parasite" vehicles of the American army.

I'm afraid you can't relate tank numbers to frame numbers in that way - we know that tank numbers were applied around the time of dispatch, after the machines were built. It is very clear in the dispatch books that the frame numbers are anything but sequential and adjacent machines in the books can be hundreds of frames apart.

Okay, so there's no logic to it.

For the registration number, ideally the tolerance should be within 100.

And your frame looks very good, all the original brackets look to be present.
Keep us informed about the progress please !

On the front fender, on the outside, there are license plate brackets.

Inside, other holes have been filled.
My question: which part is still usable? The existing brackets? The four filled holes? Or neither?
