To the site Admin,
When going to this forum since the web site change a couple of years ago I get error and do not trust messages each time I access it.
I am assuming that AOMCC forum does not run on HTTPS but only on HTTP?
Since it is only a few dollars/pounds to change I wonder you haven't already done this?
cheers
Gary

It's not so much the cost (which is is variable, occasionally free but can be up to a few tens of pounds), more that the associated security certificates need to be managed, and that includes making sure they get renewed properly when they expire, which can be every couple of years.
If I felt confident in the people who'd be doing the management I'd have a different attitude but at the moment I see HTTPS as an un-necessary complication that adds in something else that can go wrong with the result that the website goes offline.
(I have seen that happen.)
