I am rebuilding a 1951 KH 500 engine and I am puzzled as to how the drive side crank shaft oil seal is normally retained in position.
The outer diameter of the oil seal does not appear to fit into any sort of housing in the crank case.
Where the oil seal back face has been rotating against the crank case outer face there appears to be some wear on the crank case outer face.
Draganfly’s website shows that the same oil seal applies to engines from 1948 to 1957 and the oil seal on my bike appears the same as theirs.
Can anyone clarify how this oil seal fits and works please.
Thanks. Eddie Lloyd

Re: KH 500 drive side crank shaft oil seal
This question seemed a bit familiar, even though I don't know much about 500 twins.
