Primary chain tension - '58 Huntmaster

Post by Nickfrank »

Simon, I tried to send a PM but not sure it went so I will send it again to the group as follows:
I tightened the primary chain too much and am now trying to back it off but no luck with simply loosening the draw bolt adjuster. I did note the secondary chain loosening as I was going through the process so I adjusted that np. I tried wiggling the gearbox but realized I don't know if the chain loosens by pivoting the gearbox backwards or forwards.

Nick - I've picked up the PM from you and sent one back.
The PMs stay in the outbox until the recipient picks them up. Might seem a bit counter-intuitive but it means that you do get to see if they've actually been looked at.
Keep at it, every day a school day! ;)
