Model C rear wheel removal

Post by roy.plowman »

Afternoon folks. Am I missing some bleedin' obvious 'trick' to getting the back wheel out of a '28 Model C, or does the whole rear mudguard have to come off? I can't get the sprocket side spindle back out of the spindle slot.
One piece rear guard, bike has lighting set and rear carrier.
Not a master mechanic, and I have a hernia at the moment...

Hi. I am not yet starting on my 1930 model G project so I am not sure, but looking at the mudguard, the frame and the wheel it seem to be the only option; to remove the mudguard....

Which is becoming my thinking, and to which I say "Oh bother"
Must have been fun on an unlit 1928 dirt road, at night in the pouring rain...

Roy, I have a similar problem on my '27, having to remove the rear mudguard to take the wheel out

When I had to change rear tyre, I hoisted the bike up so far, that the wheel could drop out.
On the road you might use a tow rope and a big tree?
