Burman Q kickstarter

My model b with burman q gearbox has a problem with kickstarter shaft. The shaft moves out of the gearbox towards the kickstarter side while you try to start. Is there something missing on the end of the shaft on the gearbox side or is the fit into the gearbox just worn and not able to hold as the interferance fit is not there. Dont wan't to drill and tap the end of the shaft just yet. Cheers Conrad

I'm pretty sure that the shaft is a press fit into the casing (its been a long time since I looked).
