Hello
I wonder if someone might be able to help advise?
I am just in the process of finishing off some of the winter jobs on my 1935 Red Hunter LH 250cc.
It’s fitted with 1 inch handlebars with open ended grips, which I believe is correct for the year. Looking at pictures of other bikes of the same year; I’ve noticed that most seem to have chrome handlebar end caps, I wondered if anyone knows whether these would have been originally fitted (I’m struggling to find any information on this) and if so where I might be able to obtain some from?
Many thanks for any advice you may be able to offer.

Re: Handlebar end caps
Here are some photos of the end cap on my old 37 NH (I don't have it any more) which might give you some ideas. This is for the 'straight pull' twist grip. I don't remember what the left had side looked like.

One more photo showing both ends from a straight pull throttle like Dave's.

Re: Handlebar end caps
I looked at the sales catalogues and pictures in road tests from the time. From 1936 the VH was always pictured with closed grips and modern twist grip mechanism, and all other single models with straight-pull twist grips with end caps. In the 1935 catalogue all models have the straight-pull grip, but the 1935 VH tested by The Motorcycle on the AOMCC document repository doesn't. Is this all just coincidence or was there a system?

Re: Handlebar end caps
Thanks for the all of the info, it’s really helpful. As my LH is fitted with a twist grip it sounds as if it could have originally had closed end grips. Will probably be best to go down this route as it seems almost impossible to find appropriate bar ends.
