I've done around 5 thousand so far Keith shes been going well. Just a little water getting into a plug cap my only problem.

15 mins before I got to the ferry the rain started, I'd settle for that. The forecast was much worse.

In fairness, I guess the time of year / climate doesn't help much with the build, at present!

It doesn't, the guys come in from the mainland so time on the ferry looses them a couple of hours a day.

I'm back from my travels, I cheated slightly and brought my Huntmaster back from Ireland in the back of my empty van, saved a few pounds at least in ferry fares.
Today I used my 58 VH for a run as my Huntmaster was still without its screen, my van was too low. My first job was in Wallingford then I had to travel up to Banbury and measure a boiler house in a police startion. I passed over the river Thames so got this picture. I'm along way from London but the Thames here is still a mighty river.

Now I filled up yesterday with a good full tank. Plenty of fuel for todays ride of around 180 miles, or so I thought. It ran out at 179 miles. 1 mile from my workshop. Even laying my bike over didnt get me far so I had to push it.
The Huntmaster easily does 250 miles on a tank. Must be running a bit rich.

Maybe the extra streamlining means the 650 is actually more economical.
Or perhaps you have to thrash the 500 more?

Your probably right Peter. I think the fairing does make a difference along with the engine running a bit weak. I must check outthe plugs.
The cold, rain and even a bit of frost have never stopped me but Gareth did. Storm Gareth. I had a job in Chelmsford and the thought of battling the winds on the M25 made me take my wifes car. Actualy it turned out a good decision as the rain turned out biblical and driving over the Dartford bridge was definitely very windy. Maybe I'm getting soft

if you have a VH tank it won,t hold as much motion lotion as the FH
