Re: Oil Pressure

Post by john.whiting »

Highly stressed singles like JAP and ESO used Pilgrim type pumps with tiny output. The idea of oil flooding everywhere appeals to some,as does the largest possible oil pump. All oil flow through a relief valve heats the oil,and generally aerates it too.As well as wasting a portion of the tiny power output of these engines. And pressure on bigend rollers is also undesirable, forcing them away from the flow, and generating more heat.Regards John.

Re: Oil Pressure/ piston ring end gap

Post by satchison »

Happy New Year,
New compression rings (3) have arrived. Ariel manual states ".006 to .008" ring end gap for new rings. I'm assuming this is per inch of cylinder bore? Any advice is much appreciated.
Cheers!
