I used a Clutch from a 350 on my Q box. I would think they should be readily available at swap meets in the UK

Did you machine up a taper adaptor Ian? I'd be interested in any details for the conversion.

Hi Tony
Back in the late 80's when i started my VF project,I needed a Clutch with the taper shaft. In those days I sent off many a letter to shops in the UK looking for a clutch. Then one day while up in the rafter in the garage rummaging through my Ariel spares ,there before me was a Ariel gearbox with the clutch attached from a 350. I never though it would be a taper fit as my VHA had spline fitment .To my surprise this was a Taper fit.
It bolted right on and has been working great.
I'm not a 350 expert so I'm not sure what years they used the Taper shaft, maybe some 500s used the same set up?

Most of the parts are available from club spares including the centre, basket and plates

I rebuilt my clutch this winter. new sprocket from the Slovac klub, bearings & races, rubbers from Geoff. I had to weld the grooves in my basket (BAD) .
I didn't see the basket (81X) in the parts list..today I noticed it hasn't been updated since 2012.
