W/NG Footrest rubbers part two...

Post by Paul Slootheer »

I found this most interesting quote concerning the use of foortrest- and other rubbers on the Ariel W/NG.
Quite contrary to the general asumption of the absence of various rubber parts on the W/NG its says only in later years they where discarded.

Having the parts book for the Contract # you are working on is essential. That tells it all.

Wade,
My W/NG is from a batch from 1940/1941 so I guess it should have these various parts?
Unfortunately don't have the parts book.
Regards, Paul ;)

Would show a variation in foot pegs then? I doubt the rubbers were made to fit the later types, but just be the typical civilian type. as pre war. Nev

Vincent, will print out this parts list.
Unfortunately the rubbers for the footrests are not illustrated. Seen also some other rubber components in the partslist. Also the early handlebar bracket (with rubber..) for flexible mounting the same as fitted on my W/NG and the early toolbox lid thumbscrews.

The page with the drawings of the footrests is missing I think.
The page with the tank is double.
Who has the Original and is willing to scan the missing page ?
Also the page with the drawings of the rear mudguard is missing.

looks like whoever created it named the same image with two different names.... I Just checked the folder and I don't have an extra one ... :(

If I find my parts list then I'll scan and post it up ....
