1 owner from new !!

Post by paulhvtr »

Ok well I lied a little lol

Got the log book back today and I'm only the 2nd owner.

I did expect to be the 45th or something. So imagine my surprise

Someone did love the grunt master for a long time. Any other low owner bikes out there?

There's a chap lives round here that's owned the same Red Hunter since 1950. He still rides it and takes it to shows.
Although, I don't know how many owners it had before him from 1935 to 1950.

My 49VH was purchased new by my father. It came to me with original receipt, owner’s manual and a lot of original literature, Dunlop, Amal, Renolds etc as well as the envelope that the literature came in.

But the HS mk3 below (photo taken at the 2015 AAR rally) is still a genuine one owner bike that is regularly ridden and is often in the company of Brenton.

I acquired my 59 VH in the mid to late 70's. I swapped my 250MZ super 5 for it from the original owner. It came with all the docs including the original guarantee in the original envelope with Ariel Motors Sellyoak stamped on the front which I still have. The bike originally was a August 59 NH which I converted to a 550cc motor about 10 years ago ( still have the NH motor under the bench). It now has over 60k on it and is in regular use. I changed the original chains last year with 57k miles on them with very little wear. This weekend my wife and I will be going away and expect to do about 350 miles by the time we get home. What great bikes we owns guys, why the hell would you spend 4x the money on a Comet or Goldie. Just don't let on what a we all know.
Cheers Tony

Very nice examples. Everything we have is special . It certainly wouldn't be expected to be still going 60 to 100 years after manufacture. Some parts are made of unobtainium, so we might think of making some replacements more than perhaps we have so far. Nev
