New member and motorcycle
Hello, As a new member and first time Ariel owner I was wondering about the history of this motorcycle. It has an engine number of W1454 and a Burman gearbox number of QL1622. Do not know if it is 1928 or what an Ariel "tt special" is. Any help would be welcome. Cheers Conrad.

Hi Conrad, welcome to our forum.
It's certainly an interesting bike. Was the previous owner able to give any information about it?
The side valve motors are usually more 'sedate', so not usually for racing.
Perhaps it is modelled on this one, built by Lawrence Hartley in the 30's?
