Hi Colin,
I don't have a code, but did have the area behind the badges of a '37NG colour matched.
If you don't get an answer anywhere else, we might be able to work something out.

Greens can be a difficult colour to colour match, as the eye has the greatest sensitivity to variations at this section of the light spectrum.

I have in the past worked with electronic colour matching equipment that used the LAB colour co-ordinates system, and green was the colour that was hardest to match, having the greatest difference in shade for a small variation in colour co-ordinates, whereas yellow was the least sensitive (I don't suggest you paint your Ariel yellow!).

The equipment was used to colour match rolls of paper (up to six different rolls at one time) that were cut into sheets together, so there could be six consecutive sheets with a different parent roll, and any significant differences were immediately noticeable.

I have a JD mower Nev, so will check.
Also, two reds or three? We're the mid 30's bikes a darker red? - like a blood red..

I think the JD green may be a little bit lighter but not much. A small amount of black tinter might get it right.
The earlier red, Brenton, before and just after the war is a beautiful colour but many get it too orange or at the other end too shaded down . Ariels were very smart looking bikes in most colours with a couple of exceptions which I won't offend by mentioning. Nev

I'm not falling for that one. Perhaps we can have others offer their opinions, ,but the black frame chrome and red tank and wheels looks great. Wouldn't look much in the kitchen. That's a clue. Nev
