That is interesting. This lacquer is not an activated 2k product, so I am very surprised that it withstands ethanol.

Having had poor results (ethanol proofing-wise) from using any kind of single-shot lacquer, I only use proper 2k aerosols (with the activator release on the bottom of the can.)

I would doubt that any kind of wax treatment could withstand the solvent effect of petrol.
