I can imagine Ariel did ad this bracket to the early models but It seems pointless to ad this bracket to a VB model which never did have two exhaust ports. Maybe they pre fabricated the complete front tubes with all the brackets etc. on the frame regardless which model it was used later on?

I was cheaper to make all the frames the same whether they were to use one small bracket or not, rather than to have 2 frames, 2 part numbers and to make sure that the right frame went with the right engine. Anyway how could people 80 years later build a single or twin port by using any frame
