Well I never! Bikes are clearly 1940 models, although the article is post war.

Re: Wanted-1940 girder fork friction handle
bytheway, that fork on the first picture at the beginning of this thread has a -I think- pretty odd attach point for the brakeplate arm.
It sits behind the leg, OK if it would attach right there to the leg.
But this one has a reactionarm fixed to the leg higher up.
I suspect that if any play shows up in the nuts & bolts the brakeplate winds to the front.....happy braking
edit;
Also the front tube (from top link to wheel spindle) is not straight,(looking from the side) I think this was used for the last time in 1932.
This fork does not look to come from a 1945-47 model.

Vincent,
That looks like a rear brake plate being used on a front wheel

I think that is a tele fork brake plate, may be a modified tele hub as well. That is a very bad angle for the torque arm (brake reaction). I see what you mean about the fork tubes, the 2 legs form a 'V' instead of the front going straight down. In fact are they even Ariel forks, look at the lower links? Then the tele FMG, wrong stand, headlamp brackets, no front stay. Just a mess, easier to say what is right then what is wrong.
