What make of lever / manette is this?
fifties or maybe earlier?

Yes, main is 5/16 x 26 and handlebar clamp are 5/16 W
1" clamp.
Its a nice looking thinghy, fit for my W/VB as choke :D

I have seen these before, I don't know the make but there were many makers and is more typical of a lawn mower style but will work OK and is period.
Roger Gwynn, Membership Secretary, curator of the Machine Register and the works drawings. Director of Draganfly Motorcycles, Craven Equipment and Supreme Motorcycles mostly retired.

Apart from lawn mowers, I've seen similar levers on some small motorcycles such as autocycles.
