Colt Numbers

Post by simon.holyfield »

Folks,

I'm looking for a couple of pictures that show the position of the engine & frame numbers on post-war Colts. I'm currently engaged in producing a small visual guide on engine & frame number locations for members to use.

I understand that frame numbers are on the down tube on the nearside and engine numbers are on the crankcase, below the barrel, on the nearside - but I don't have any pictures. Can anyone help?
cheers

I've got a pic that shows a frame number on the actual steering-head tube (and engine number where you describe). Maybe someone will be along who knows better, meanwhile I'll PM you what I've got. 8-)
