Hi All Hellen Marshall who is advertising in the for sale wanted column is a Dealer who bought a bike of a friend of mine and I don't think is a member of the club which when they bought a WNG of a mate of mine and another bike I thought they were, my friend is not well and was not well at the time the deal was done and before his son could get there make of it what you will. Regards Clive.

Dealers should declare themselves as such and not pose as private buyers on a Forum like this.

It is a legal requirement to declare that the advertiser is a trader. There is not a member under that name

Strictly, I don't think that applies to 'wanted', only 'for sale' (with respect to goods or services).

Clive, we've gone over this before, see:
viewtopic.php?t=14964

See also (I believe a Club member was involved at some point):
viewtopic.php?t=14576

I'm not particularly happy with Forum members who seem to be more interested in farming the membership for machines to buy but there may be other members who would be happy to discuss the sale of a bike. Also, we've got a few members who's only interest seems to be parts, either buying or selling. I'd prefer to have a Forum membership made up entirely of folks posting about their projects and travels but I think we can tolerate the small number of members who are 'takers' rather than 'givers' . (With apologies to those who are still finding their feet and may yet have tales to tell.)

As admin I do try to keep a watch - and a read of Forum 'policies' will show that there are mechanisms for raising objections  :o

So far I don't think anyone has broken any rules although they might have disappointed us.

Yep.

Its a 'problem' on other forums as well.

Scouring for complete machines, 'rare' spare parts etc.

Not exclusive to our forum.
