A.G.M. SALE OF 2 STROKE SPARES

Post by Trev Sellars »

Firstly, many thanks of you who helped out with technical information at the sale and for those who purchased the spares.
We actually raised £476.05, it was £466.05 but a late sale of £10, as I was loading up the car increased the total!
.
The new reproductions of the original style of wing mirrors, proved a big hit and I sold 6 bodies and mounting screws on the day. I am looking at getting some original glass mirrors, from a member, to refurbish. This will then enable the club to sell a complete unit if required. These copies are exactly the same dimensions of the original!

The modified rear sprocket raised some eyebrows, by using a ring sprocket and machining the original sprocket to fit. Nice job, and the price is likely to be in the region of £60 plus postage, if you supply your old sprocket and send it to me. Again, a picture of the sprocket is on the facebook page.

Some interesting stuff sold, including a very hard to get original rear chromed bumper for the leader! A front prop stand, police lifting handle and well as lots of other bits too. There are some pictures on the Facebook site that someone has kindly loaded up, to push the point of joining the club, to benefit from these rare spares at good prices.

It was great to meet you all and listen to your stories of repairing and rebuilding your bikes. It was even more rewarding when you were able to find that illusive part that you have been searching for! This is why I like this club, we are all in it, to improve those bikes and to get thoses bikes back on the road. I was amazed on how many restoration projects are underway at the moment.

Also, thanks to the previous sapares officers, who did a fantastic job of finding and making parts, that I sold. That made my job so much easier.
