Re: Frame differences
I assume you mean swing-arm.
No differences at all.
(I've got one that swaps between a VH and an FH depending on which engine I've broken....)

Re: Frame differences
Same outer, but the inner is different for each of the twins ('cos they need to make more room for the crankcases).
However it is possible to use a twin inner with a single-cylinder engine if you make a suitably thick spacer plate to go between the inner and the crankcase!

Re: Frame differences
Hmmm... So I could build a rip-snorting single and have the best of both worlds without restoring another bike!

Re: Frame differences
/Are the petrol tanks on the swing arm Ariel bikes different between the single and the twin motors on the frames?

Re: Frame differences
Depends which single and twin! There are 2 tanks used, the difference being the recess underneath to clear the top of the engine. 1954 NH,VH are the same and KH and FH use one a different one. They all use the same tank for 1955. Again for 1956 all are the same, 1957-58 the tanks are different for NH/VB/KH and for the VH/FH. So 5 tanks in total.
