BAPDH 20528
BAPDH 20528
Hi (Roger) . A friend bid and obtained a lot (119) at a very resent Bonham Auction in Bletchley. So, I go over with my brother to collect said Norton Inter parts. And what do I see, a BAP box. Inters never had a BAP so it looks like I have another box (courtesy of Phil). As you can see it has some different mechanisms to my 47 BAP. But I will put this into my growing gearbox collection. What year and what fitment ish would be nice from some kind soul.

Cotter pin k/start is pre 1937, the clutch arm is pre 1935 and the mainshaft is pre 1936. The serial number according to Paul's chart would be around mid 1934 and BAP/MIII is listed as 1933 Ariel in the 1933 Burman parts list but in 1937 they list it as fitted to 1935-37 and 1BAP/MII for 1931-34!

Thanks Again Roger for helping identity another find that came my way.
Hi Karol. The true owner of this box is in Croatia at the moment (motor home holiday) .. Yes I did see your list of bikes that would maybe suite this gearbox. Why not ask Roger or some other site member to put a price on the box (No auction) and I do not see why you cannot have the box. As Phil said he would just sell the non Norton parts on, and for me keeping a 30's gearbox etc etc.

Re: BAPDH 20528
it's not every day that 1934 - 37 transmissions come along, I'd like to buy one, but it's not usually available. I will also be happy if someone finds and offers one for sale. If my offer offended you in any way, I'm sorry. I don't speak English and I use google translator.

Karol - I do not detect any offence in Roy's reply, there may be a mistranslation, or as we say "Moje vznášadlo je plné úhorov". I think Roy is suggesting that you make him an offer but the owner of the gearbox is on holiday in Croatia.

Thank-you Roger. Karol has Phils email and presently they are throwing numbers. It would be a sorry day if the box did not get back to a 1930"s motorcycle. Thsnks again for your help. I await another box coming my way.
