Description :
Very nice Ariel W/NG 350 cc from 1944. This motorcycle was left behind in Sweden after the war and was made in civilian colors. Nice to restore this warbird to its original army color for the 80th anniversary of the liberation or to drive it like that. The Swedish papers and proof of purchase are included, so applying for a license plate from the RDW is no problem.
added info 24-6-2024 : I'm not very technical and broke my heel with the kick starter. This is the reason for selling this beautiful motorcycle.

No speedo or speedo drive. Headlight too big No electric horn. Top toolbox missing No lower chainguard. Later model hand levers I don't like picking on things but better you know. Nev

Re: Ariel W/NG 1944
I thought Sweden was 'neutral' in WWII - they shot down British aircraft that strayed into their airspace while returning from Germany (I saw the remains of a Lancaster in a Swedish museum).
So what's this 'liberation' then? (Idiot - it's the liberation of Holland, not Sweden - still doesn't explain how a W/NG got to Sweden during WWII though).

That's quite some asking price when you take in account you have to spend extra money and work to make it a proper W/NG again.

Re: Ariel W/NG 1944
The 44 model also has the ignition switch under the seat and has no ammeter; The correct switch has a "TEST" position .The front guard is not the right fit either. Too large a radius . Should have a straight Kicker arm. Alltette horn mounted in front of engine and voltage regulator is???. Should be the smaller LUCAS. Magneto case looks to be the Later type Lower rear mudguard strap should be curved where it fits the stud and nut I think that's about it. I haven't checked the engine number. It would be in a range (I believe from Orchard and Madden) I've had 3 of the W/NG and done about 19,000 miles on an earlier model. It even WON a nice prize for easy starting and NOT leaking OIL. The Original gear ratios are weird and the bike is a bit crosswind affected at speed but all in all a bike worth having IMHO. Plenty of ground clearance. The "UNIVERSAL seat with barrel springs is right for the Later model and acceptable on the others as a replacement. Nev
