It looks very unloved. Almost a fossil. Getting it to concourse (or close) will NOT be easy. Nev

Re: Nice project...
The difficulty with HS is; if you want to use it on the road the petrol tank is to small, you want a standard petrol tank, cam, piston, carburettor and exhaust.
Ending in a standard VH with an aluminium barrel, so better buy a nice VH and buy a new aluminium barrel .
In this case your buying a solid engine, gearbox, wheels and damaged frame.

And while your'e at it;
Fit a iron top half to get rid of the noise and those inevitable loose valve guides

Re: Nice project...
If a HS is a practical choice in terms of ''every day use'' is another matter I guess...
Perhaps a iron 500 single in standard trim is the best choice...
Meanwhile this project is reaching 2k...

A lot of (usually older) blokes who have done a lot of Ariel riding agree with YOU, Vincent..Trouble is the only NEW heads are alloy. I doubt anybody will make CI ones and good originals are not easy to obtain. (500 cc ones). Nev
