sounds interesting Will, let me know what you find, the early A65 used the same 8 inch side hub brake, they went back to it as it worked better than a lot of the others.

Yes, I did for my SQ4,

didn't have to change anything on the Ariel fork, just adjusted the BWM axle and the spacers, that was all. Works perfectly!

It's a BMW R/5 Brake. I got a complete front wheel on evil beef.

Just to add to the conversation. My old Huntmaster had a Norton ES2 / Dominator FWH which was very satisfactory & fitted in standard forks. Not sure about the spindle as it was fitted by the previous owner.
