I think these are 1927 forks. (edit) possibly 1928 expert please !

The seller certainly won't win any photography awards for his listing! However, my money is on them being '28 forks given the "D" shaped guard they are paired with. That said, '28 forks are identical in shape/style to the '27 models including the fitting on the right side tip to take the bolt that secures the brake backing plate. However, the '28 forks are much wider and so the width is the only way to be certain. The distance centre to centre of the eyelets that take the headlamp supports should measure approximately 85 mm if they are '27 forks. '28 forks will be wider here.

The front wheel of Ariel from 1927 is smaller than 1928.I Think 130 mm <---> . Thus, the fork is also small than 1928th. The rest is identical.
